The country of Mexico is situated between a gulf and an ocean it is a country that is full of tradition, history, beauty and culture. The origin of the name Cancun is not known but according to Mayan pronunciations Cancun is thought to mean nest of snakes or the place or seat of the golden snakes. Cancun was known to its original Mayan inhabitants as Nizuc, this either means point of grass or promontory. Located in Quintana Roo state southern Mexico, it is the biggest town of the county of Benito Juarez.
